13th & 14th April Introduction to hand pushed engraving with John Cook
We are excited to have renowned engraver John Cook to Bristol again this year, where he'll be leading a two-day engraving masterclass. We are pleased to be hosting this special workshop at In Bristol Studio.
This intensive course is perfect for jewellers at all levels from hobbyists through to professionals and covers the essentials of hand-pushed engraving. You will learn how to prepare and use engraving tools, explore different design transfer methods, and work with four types of gravers to produce five or more types of cuts. By the end of the course, you'll have the skills and confidence to start incorporating engraving into your own jewellery work.
You are welcome to bring your own graver tools, or simply come as you are—tools will be provided, and some may be available for purchase on the day (subject to availability).
Please note: This course does not include letter engraving, as that is covered in a more advanced class, intended for students who have completed the introductory course. Which will hopefully be coming to Bristol later in the year.
Please bring your own lunch and snacks for both days as there are limited supply around the area. Tea, Coffee will be provided throughout the day.
